Imagine. You’ve done the ever popular DNA test because like everyone else you want to know where your ancestry lies. You do the sample and post it off eagerly. A few days later, your email inbox displays that you have an email. You see it’s from the company that does the DNA test you did. It says in the title that is important. You click onto it quickly, thinking ‘Strange isn’t this supposed to take a few weeks...’

There is a number. It says to call and then to delete the email. Hastily you grab a pen, jot down the number and delete the email.

You dial and a short few rings later the phone picks up.

‘Hello this is….’
‘I got this email asking me to call, my name is...’
‘Please don’t tell us any more personal information. I personally tested your results. Don’t worry, only I know about this. One question before I continue…. Did you try any other DNA avenues before our company?’
‘No.’
‘Good. As you know our company tests your DNA to provide information based on human genetics to provide you with details as to where you and your ancestry comes from… well… on this occasion I wasn’t able to do this. We didn’t state on our terms and conditions that in order to tell you, your ancestry your DNA needs to come from the human genus. The sample you provided was unlike any I’ve come across. Simply put, it wasn’t of human orgin. Due to this, I cannot tell you your ancestry. I have provided a refund and destroyed your sample. Your details have been erased and all traces of this call and contents will be erased as of time you end this call. I just thought you ought to know. I’m sorry that ultimately you did not find the answers you were looking for. Good luck and stay safe….’

-clicks-

The phone goes dead. You are left shaken and confused. ‘What am I?’ repeatedly swims through your head and the last irony you think fleetingly is - ‘The YouTube testimonies I saw usually came with a shocking revelation… I guess I got mine. I just never thought it’d be this...’

- Does this short story count as a creepy pasta? Knowing me, I’d be this person. Oh well. I had fun writing it. :P

OMG! I thought this was real or rather that you were being scammed. Great short story. I expect the government now to get onto you or someone to start following you around and a mysterious body of a geneticist to turn up dead on the news...

Who knows, eh? Keep an eye on the news, you know, just in case ;-) Coincidences happen all the time. Or maybe, just maybe... this is real in the form of a short story just so I can confess my rather odd story from the comfort of my safe home and computer chair in the hopes I can get my story out there before it's too late....

I think...I think... you had better watch this...
