Asked my GP to send a re-refferal to my GIC which according to their records he did. But called up my GIC today to find out why I havent received a letter in the 16 months since then and they say I havent been referred and to call back tomorrow to talk to the lady who deals with the referals. Great, thats another 16 months to add to my wait.
I'm looking to get back in to discuss my lower surgery, I have been thinking about it while ive been at college and living stealth and decided I want to go with Phallo. The long wait beguins, again.

Update

SO, I was officially referred to my GIC on the 21st of April 2017, 1 year after I had originally asked to be referred, and have been told the waiting period for priority (which I was entitled to anyway) is 12-18 months. Goodie.

I knew the waiting period was long which is why I tried to arrange it a year ago, but my new GP just didnt refer me correctly and ultimately, Leeds just never received my referal.

So now I have to wait another year to see my GIC.

Which gic was it? I'm supposed to be discharged after my next appointment in July and notts gic told me getting re referred would be easy as a former patient.

Leeds, I called them up again and they again confirmed I havent been referred, I told them that according to my GPs system that I have been, so they asked me to get my GP to send them another referral and evidence they had sent one earlier to see if they can put me on as priority. So I have done all that, now just have to wait and see what they come back at me with, good times.

Letters do go astray or are misfiled so it sounds as though your GP did make the referral and when the GIC finds out it was their fault they probably will try and get you in as a priority. Maybe it would be worth phoning them up in a few weeks and asking if they have got the new referral and if there are any cancellations and that you are willing to come in at short notice because you've been waiting long enough as it is. Thank you so much person on the reception desk, you have been so kind/helpful.

Oh god, yeah! This happened to me too, my referral to the GIC got hold up by some weird admin error- only for a few months, though, not this long D: I so hope it's all sorted soon. I hope they give your referral priority, it just seems like good practice when something like this happens.

So here’s the crack, my new GP didn’t send my referral, instead requested funding, which he’s apparently not supposed to do. Now they’re saying I need another psychiatric assessment before I can be referred, apparently in a year they never realized they done fucked up. Got a woman trying to sort it all out for me and going to talk to NHS-MyTown to see what the crack is for referring me back to my GIC and if I do need a Psychiatric assessment. Pain.
